Geographic information system (GIS) tools are
essential today for understanding what is happening around us. A commonly used application is QGIS, which is free, open-source, cross-platform software that is regularly maintained. The R statistical software package also has good GIS capabilities, and data can be used for modelling. This workshop is intended for those who want to learn the basics of GIS but do not have access to proprietary software. OutlineThe following topics will be covered:
